The Cle Elum Roslyn School District includes the Cle
Elum-Roslyn High School, Walter Strom Middle School and the Cle Elum-Roslyn
Elementary School. The district is headed by Superintendent Evelyn Nelson
and the communities' school board.
The schools are up to date and well equipped with technology thanks to numerous grants over the years and offers many exciting projects within their curriculums for all grades, K-12.
The entire district is involved in Project CAT (Cougars and Teaching) which integrates technology, community, environmental studies and some incredible field work for all levels in the science program. This program is connected with Washington Fish and Wldlife, University of Washington, and Central Washington University, as well as generous supporters. It is one of a kind and has recieved statewide news coverage through various large broadcasters and recently students presented at the National Mountain Lion Convention where our superintendent and district was recognized for taking real issues into education. The technology in the high school offers great oppotunities like training in Oracle and developing a student run website. The High School currently offers two AP (Advanced Placement) courses; enivronmental science and Calculus AB.
The High School is a single A level school that is very competitive in all of the atheltic programs which include: football, volleyball, crosscountry and cheerleading in the fall; girls and boys basketball, wrestling, and cheerleading in the winter; and Baseball, Softball, Track & Field, and Tennis in the Spring.
The middle school offers school sports for 7th and 8th graders in girls and boys basketball, football, cross country, wrestling, baseball, softball, and track & field. Sixth grade down to 2nd grade have a variety of intramural sports that are run through the school every year.
The community is very involved in the school and the athletics as you can find a large amount of Cle Elum and the surrounding area residents at the events.
The class sizes average between 20 and 30 stundents. The schools offer a small close-knit community for learning.
Easton is a small neighboring school of K-12.
